I'm confused. Are you talking about Ed or JBolt?

Oh, I get it now. Ed is either 12 years old or mental, and JBolt is 12
years old AND mental.

But seriously, you too, would be as caustic, sarcastic, and obnoxious as
Ed is if you were flamed by someone else. Heck, I've seen you do the
same thing you deride Ed for (and you were unsubbed for it, as I
recall). The thing is, you basically know when to stop (thanks to your
Procmail filter, unfortunately). But Ed is still being hounded by JBolt,
who is *unrelenting*. I'll say it again: you and Ed have a lot in
common. You two should exchange lots of private email, maybe with a
third party as diplomatic courier. You'd see, like Jews and Arabs, that
you're both Semites, and cut from the same cloth. I know, this all
sounds like an insult now, but it isn't. (And Ed should acquaint himself
with the archives; he'd probably see you and JBolt for the outstanding
Patti Smith fans that you both are -- as Ed also is, if either of you
haven't noticed.)

Isn't it possible for fans of Patti Smith to have very different views
about who she is, what she stands for, what she did, etc. and still talk
to each other respectfully? Does everyone have to tow the same party
line and then attack someone else if an alternate view is expressed?
It's boring when the only posts are merely factual ones (though
informative), but when the opinionated posts (which make it interesting)
get personal, then it becomes completely corrosive.

This is just common sense, decency and a heartfelt request for a
cessation of all hostilities.

Is there any chance Michael has an opinion about this?
