Well, six white horses that you did promise
Were fin'lly delivered down to the penitentiary
But to live outside the law, you must be honest
I know you always say that you agree
But where are you tonight, sweet Marie?
and Patti Smith contradicted herself in writing
outside of society, that's where I want to be
be a gathering
You can be outside of "normal" society, but inside babel-list
society, in the gathering. Or if there's a babel-list in-group,
you can be outside of that too. Does being outside that make
you inside middle-america? I dunno. (Seems like I'm writing
"I dunno" a lot lately.) I think I'd better just end with a Mark
Bolan quote:
deep in my heart there's a house that can hold just about all of you
That's how I feel about babel-list (new and old members, in-group and
not). Happy birthday babel-list.
