saving pics and movies

This might be easy and obvious for some of the most computer-literate
among us, but might be useful for others ...

Right now Rocktropolis has some really neat Patti stuff up on their
site: about 30 pictures from the CBGB sets and 5 short movie clips.
Poking around a bit, I found how to save those movies and pictures
to my local disk, so I can keep them and replay them without any
download time, and without worrying that in the future they may
be gone from the Rocktropolis site. It's real easy. With a picture,
view it on your screen in Netscape, then right-click it, and one
of the options is "save as", and save it as a file on your local
disc. For movies, the same thing, download it (takes a while over
a modem), then right-click it and choose "save movie" from the
options. Warning: the movie clips take more than 2 MB of disk
for each one.

Fiona, if you have the disk space and time, it would be great to
save these things on babelogue. I have no idea if you would be
violating a copyright or anything like that.

The person who chose these video clips has great taste: there are
2 from "Pale Blue Eyes", one from "Don't say nothing", one from
"Death Singing", and one with mini-interviews with Lenny and JD.

The link to Rocktropolis is on babelogue under "latest updates".
