Great analogy! "Roll Away the Dew" *was* one of the best
moments, though I coulda done w/o most of the noodling
afterwards. (I know, that's sacrilege to the GD
crowd...I guess my attention-span is too low...)

I HEAR THAT! I wondered why on earth she was doing such a
long double-set. When I heard how long Tuesday's show was, I
assumed that was Patti's choice...is it possible CB's could
dictate such a thing, for someone of Patti's stature? If so,
that seems very, VERY wrong.

I agree wholeheartedly. Patti needs no defense for me, I
think of her as pretty close to a saint, avatar, whatever.
I'm not at all sorry I was there Thursday. What I
experienced during "Dancing Barefoot" and "Didn't Do
Nothing" cannot be duplicated or properly described. It was
nearly overwhelming to be so close to Patti's output/aura/force,
even on a bad nite. She really is one of a kind, and only God
knows how she got here and how she manages to stay. (May that
be LONG!) For me, seeing her trying to cope is a wonderful
learning experience all on its own.

There are other shows of hers I've enjoyed more
uncomplicatedly from beginning to end, tha'sall. I
originally chose Thursday because I thought they would've
stretched out and be rarin' to go. (And I was too chicken
for Halloween.) Sounds like an earlier night mighta been more
traditionally "fun." It made me sad to see Patti not seeming
to enjoy herself, but I'd go again in a NY minute!
