Here is my 2 cents worth of critique.
I am a huge Patti fan and love her as much as anybody on these threads. I am the early bird in the front of "The Line" and rush to the front of the stage just to glimpse Patti up close. Her live performances are hypnotic and very special to me just as to the others who love to see her live.
Here are my favorite songs from "12".
1. WHITE RABBIT
2. GIMME SHELTER
3. SOUL KITCHEN
4. SMELLS LIKE TEEN SPIRIT
5. MIDNIGHT RIDER
the rest you can delete...... ......... ......... ..It seems as though Columbia gave Patti a sedative before she sang the rest of the songs. The passion and volume and crescendos are just not there. It all seems muted and diluted. I blame this on Columbia and not Patti. I am sure when we see her live this year promoting the "12" ALBUM, the live performances will be just fine. For Live, Patti can be herself, be live and innovative, free to make mistakes (which I like), free to ramble and rant, free to be LOUD and VOCAL, free to spit and curse and glower, free to be PATTI. This is the Patti I love and I am sure all you other fans love LIVE PATTI also, or you would not go to the effort to see her wherever she is.
Even my "FIVE" above are a bit subdued, but to me they are the best of the album. I look forward to seeing Patti and Her Band when they come to the West Coast, and I will enjoy several of her Live performances.
