Re: [npc] Blondie - more yammerin re: the RnR HoFame

>From what I can determine so far, the suit (which was denied by the
judge for the individuals but was allowed as co-owners of BMInc) was
over the use of "Blondie" when the band reformed. So obviously Infante
and Burke lost. (Did it come down to simply that they did not have a
controlling interest in BMInc.?) But positing it as them "suing to
rejoin the band," has me confused.

With all the industry 'chatter' it is hard to find an in depth report
of any kind about the case. Never mind the story behind the story,
which I suppose only they know (and of which there are likely at least
5 different versions).

And, even though I don't actually care that much, I am still curious.
For example: Did she ever make any statements as to why they were not
asked back?

I suppose it is the artist's/artists' prerogative as to who is in
"your" band...so I assume that is what the legal question revolved
around. From what I have garnered so far I think I would have ruled
the other way myself. Maybe if she had legally changed her name to
"Blondie" I would see it the other way.

Anyway, when I read this morning that they were actually on stage and
what happened I thought it was a _sad moment_ in RnR history - it
seems that is a legacy of the Hall of Fame itself, eh?

Kind of interesting in the context of Patti Smith vs./& PSG and the
HoFame.....so are the PSG a legal entity? I sure hope that doesn't
lead to a bunch of "shit" in the future! It would likely break my
heart.
