Re: Patti video

1988.....
And what an album it was.....its still one of my favourites. Has got me
through so much strife.

I was fortunate enough to take a hiking/camping trip with 3 other pals up on
the Olympic Penninsula (on the other side of Puget Sound, where the Pacific
Ocean is) when DOL came out, and we stayed in a communal, open-ended driftwood
'cabin' that was for use by anyone. A real fine, rustic place. It had two
floors, and we rolled out our sleeping bags up there, the open end faced the
ocean.

My girlfriends decided to take a hike, and as I'm not much for that, I stayed
there and had a very spiritual experience laying on my sleeping bag with the
boom box at the top of my head, looking out at the very-close ocean and
listening to Dream of Life.

This was a couple years before I had my first child and these songs would
serve as a foundation for having him. I'll never forget the waves lapping up
and hearing '.....going unnnder....' Oh! Rapture!

We even put People Have the Power and Up There Down There on our wedding tape!
(My ex and I did)

******
Of course that twit wasn't on DOL--she had Fred!

(I'm so happy O's gone--there, I've said it. I think he was a bit of fluff
that made her feel young. Sorry but I'm an opinionated person and that's what
I think.
I'm not in the thick of it--not in NYC or anything but...
;-) I'm also an 'older woman' and I can dig it! But....Oliver?? Come on Patti
you can do better than that! And now she's free!! Wonder what we'll see from
her next time around, albumwise?! I'm excited, she has to be writing songs,
this is a creative period in our history as it also must be in her private
life, IMHO.)

And that's MY long reply to a very short question!
I do that, yaknow. ;-)

Tony and Oliver (a.k.a. "what's his name") joined with Patti around 1995.
Dream of Life was recorded in the mid-80s.
