There are other sides to the high gas prices which are not being reported by
the
news media or talk show hosts who's job is to support big business and rich
investors.
Pass this message on to as many people as you can, our country and way of
life is at stake.
Common statements heard lately with the true answers:
"The is instability in the mid east"
A: No there isn't, the mid east is more stable than it has been since before
1991. Iraq is not able to invade anyone, Israel and Palestine are headed
towards peace, Iran is talking with Europe about their nuclear program and Saudi
Arabia had a peaceful transition when the king died.
" China and India are using more"
A: Yes they are but they are not using 60% more in less than a year.
" Heavy summer demand"
A: No heavier than usual, in fact there is less demand due to high prices.
"Prices are still lower than most of the rest of the world"
A: You mean Europe of course and gas prices have been high there for decades
so how is that relevant. Also, gas prices are in fact a lot cheaper in some
other countries.
"This isn't Bush's fault"
A: Right, it is Congress and Bush's fault, they are doing absolutely nothing
to investigate the cause for the huge increases in gas prices and the
shutting down of US refineries just as they did nothing when Enron was artificially
manipulating electric prices out west.
" There is a shortage of oil"
A: No. OPEC and others are pumping more oil than ever, a lot more than when
prices were lower less than a year ago. No country can increase usage enough
in less than a year to affect the entire world's oil supply this much in just
8 months.
" We do not know what the cause is"
A: Sure we do, this all started when the oil companies started buying other
companies to reduce the competition and in fact it is continuing with the
main goal of a monopoly and even though the government has the duty to
investigate, they are not doing so. The mergers and buy ups are a major "secret"
hidden in the network news coverage of this scandal.
"We must dump those SUV's and switch to hybrids"
A: If a real shortage were to blame that might work, unfortunately the high
prices are artificial and if everyone switched to 58 MPG Honda Civics, gas
prices would most like stay high and continue to increase. When you are dealing
with scandal and an oligopoly or monopoly, demand is not a factor in price.
"It's due to hurricanes damaging refineries"
A: That would assume hurricanes never hit refineries before and that the
refineries are being hit right now. That is not true.
"The tax breaks signed by Bush will help the oil companies"
A: No doubt about it, with 60% increases in profits the oil companies need
tax breaks and congress and Bush were more than happy to make sure they get a
better break than working taxpayers.
"If we could drill in the Alaska preserves, we would have low gas prices"
A: That oil would go to Japan where the prices are higher for crude just
like the Alaska pipeline oil goes to Japan not the US. Oil shortage does not
account for the huge gas price increases.
"What other scandals might exist?"
The high gas prices could be a conspiracy by the oil companies and
Washington to force the US people to accept drilling in the preserve in Alaska by
using high prices and a shortage as an excuse. The oil companies contribute huge
sums of money to members of Congress and the President. Both are doing
nothing. A connection? Draw your own conclusion.
"The news media explained it all".
A: The news media was bought up by the same investors and companies that are
involved in this gas price scandal and report whatever serves their
interests and has oil company stooges on TV for propaganda reasons.
"Rush Limbaugh said"
Who cares what he says? He is an overpaid talking head who is wrong most of
the time and he just caters to his audience and says what they want him to
say at a particular time.
"If John Kerry were president this would not happen"
A: What has SENATOR Kerry done to demand an investigation into the gas
prices? What legislation has Hillary Clinton introduced to investigate the oil
companies? This is not a democrat republican issue, this is an American issue
and "donations" or "lobbyists" have no part in this.
"The Iraq war is to blame"
A: Iraq is pumping more oil than before 1991, exactly how does pumping more
oil increase the price of oil?
"What can we do?"
Demand that your congressman investigate gas prices immediately as a matter
of national security. Call the White House comment line and demand Bush start
an investigation. If that fails, initiate a recall of your congress person
and an impeachment of Bush or incompetence.
If gas prices stay at this level or continue to increase, we could go into a
depression and the economy could collapse. There could be riots and
disruption in our country. This has to be investigated immediately or we as a country
are headed for disaster. It is your duty to force Congress to investigate
the gas companies NOW not after like they did Enron.
God bless America, and save us from Bush. michele
