AUGURIES OF INNOCENCE was well in hand by 12 January 2005. "Uncorrected
proof" copies -- many or all of them signed by Smith -- were available at the
"BookExpo America" trade show held at the Javits Center in New York, 3-5 June 2005.
At least two such copies have changed hands already, at $90 and $123. The
book was previously announced as THE LONG ROAD, which is actually the title of
its longest poem.
The publisher is Ecco Press, which is now an imprint or subsidiary of
HarperCollins, which is owned by the News Corporation, which is largely owned by
Rupert Murdoch.
