Many thanks for the concern. 

I'm sitiing in W1,about a mile from the nearest bomb, but its all pretty
calm.  its a lot worse in the City.

we have something here called the blitz spirit.  doesnt make it any better,
but we were bombed by the zeppelins in ww1, bombed by the nazis in ww2, bombed
by the ira in the seventies onwards, so there's not a lot of panic.  we all
went to the pub at lunch time for a few pints.  eat drink and be merry. 
gallows humour.  the english are good at it.

big worry is the backlash.  mosques will burn tonight.    the right will
use this as an excuse for further repression.  Biometric ID cards anyone?
