RE: Symbionese Liberation Army

Patty Hearst: daughter of the rich San Francisco Hearst publishing family
(see Citizen Kane movie), kidnapped in the 1970s by the radical
group Symbionese Liberation Army (SLA). Kept captive, then went over to
the side of her captors and participated in bank robberies with them.
Was all over the media including videos of her pointing an automatic
rifle at bank guards during a robbery. Had picture on lots of posters.
Took the name "Tanya" while part of the SLA. Had sex with SLA members.
Later caught, and renounced radicalism, said she was brainwashed. Went
to jail for a little while but then was pardoned. Recently has surfaced
as actress in some John Waters movies such as Hairspray and Serial Mom.
