The website for the event (xpn.org/music/ssw2000) includes
a schedule for all performances. Patti's set is scheduled
to be 70 minutes long, kicking off at 7:30PM Sunday.
Gates open at 1PM, and there are no advance ticket sales,
so I suppose you'll have to balance the appeal of a luxuriously
late arrival with trepidation about a sellout.
You also might want to keep in mind -
* Usual "Can't bring your own food" rules apply.
I confirmed this on the phone yesterday.
So yes, a full day from 1 - 9PM, in mid-July,
you're supposed to rely on bought goods. (Feel
free to drink from the water fountains, if you
dare. Myself, I plan to claim I have a religious
restriction against e.coli.)
* Weather:
All forecasts call for precipitation on both
Saturday and Sunday. Possible thunderstorms on
Saturday. This miraculous streak of dry, sunny
weather we've been enjoying since the 4th,
pretty much uninterrupted, looks to end with
this festival.
This all takes place outside, and there are several
places around the "Great Plaza" itself where you won't
have to pay to stand (despite the rapidly dwindling
square footage of actual public space) and can still
hear the music quite well, even though you can't see
the stage (sunken in an amphitheater with its back to the
river itself).
