This is 100 percent accurate. (Bockris occasionally gets things right too I
guess.....)

A few words, but the song's music is pure Springsteen. Its got all his
signature hooks. Matter of fact, according to an E Street Band member, Bruce
discarded it at the time because he thought it sounded too much like things
he'd done before.
But then the transformation of waste is important to Patti and she did a
fine job with it (although when Bruce does it live, it sounds like Bruce
doing Bruce, and not Bruce covering Patti).
