I remember seeing Patti at the Village Gate in the mid-late Seventies and some
guy tried to steal her guitar in the middle of the show. The fans actually came
to her aid and brought the axe back before the tune ended. A great moment and
the 1st time I saw Patti live. It was the week that this normally jazz club was
taken over by the NYC scene. Summertime. Hot. I think it was Blondie for 2
nights, Talking Heads for 3 and Patti for the last 2. The show we caught was th
e
1st of her 2. We tried to get in the next night but got shut out. There's gotta
be a photo of Debbie and Patti somewhere from this stand? See previous
questions. Though they've never been seen together, I'm certain they're 2
different people. The mafia could have referred to her very loyal fan base in
NYC, not just the folks that worked for her. Hell, I woulda done bodily harm to
that guy myself to get the guitar back to her that night. Late night musings...
