That's a tuff question cuz I'd like to give honorable mention to a handful or two of teriffic bands. But if I hafta choose only one favorite, I'd say hands down (pun intended), Antietam is the overall winner. Not cuz they're the rockinest group around featuring the best living American guitarist (sez Option) with the best album release of 94 ("rope-a-dope"). All those are fairly good reasons, but Antietam and particularly Tara Key, get my vote for sheer enthusiasm. They play often and they play hard... for the fun of it. It helps that they're a bunch of working stiffs like me. And ask Tara a question about how she got started and expect to get totally blown away with a mind-boggling story of blood on a white dress and stuff. It doesn't do them justice to say they represent the "indie spirit" to the max... there's a lot more substance to this incredible trio.
