Make that, yes that, no blood from a stone... where vas I. Ok I woulda got this up when I was more in the midst of the spirit, but I was trying to get blood from a stone, and cracking up in the process, so I just came home and passed out....Ok, sorta the half and half evening. SEA MONSTER, their set up to a break, und Maria Excommunicata, a tiny bit after they started their second set. A note on the bars they were at, Continental Divide, and Spiral, both these small long obnoxious things, aren't real conducive to killer live sets, tho small conceivably *could* work in a bands favor... I dont' think it did last night. Sea Monster is a grungy, solid, straightforward+, band, with some questionable imagery, seems they could be called U- Boat as as well as Sea Monster.. They got off to a great start, they've definately got a good bit of energy there, and up until after they covered 'Cold Turkey', I definately found a killer groove. Think they peaked to soon, cause after that things seemed to flatten out quite a bit. I think they should have reversed their set, or I should have had more to drink. A touch of geetar roots, kinda the Sid Vicious Something Else syndrome but done a lot better...

Maria Excommunicata, better then last time I saw them, but not as good as the first time I saw them. Tho I'm apt to attribute that to the Spiral, which doesn't really get a full sound out the legnth of the bar, when I managed to get into the open square part, it was quite a bit fuller... They're probably more suited to a large scene, big, loud, overwhelming, there's not a lot going on, it's more textual then real intricate, kinda of a dark electric wonderland thing with a steel drum und serious vocal motion. I see them getting mucho better as time goes on.....Good stuff...
