I was taught by a major record collector that dish detergent is OK, as long
as it's mild and mixed right into water (a dab'll do ya!).
I dry my records off with fluffy towels so there is no water remaining and
it doesn't sit there on them.
Never had a problem. Works beautifully.

Soap is okay, I find liquid soad applied in small portions on a damp towel is
brilliant to clean up lp covers or glossy EP/Psleeves. Just make sure the
towel is not too wet and don't use a mess of soap, rub on in circular motions
softly. Dirt and grime come right off. (Practice on a cheap sleeve first
before attempting the pricier items)
Record cleaner
I use distillied water (1/2 gallon)/rubbing alcohol (1/2 gallon)/photo
flo neutralizer(1 cap-ful)/ makes enough for ages. Use the nitty gritty
cleaner as well (this seems like a familiar thread :o) )
I have used soap and water on 78's and heavy duty grunged out grimy discs.
I've had heard about the soap water thing being bad as well, but I never had a
problem with it.
The towel thing that Glynis uses sounds cool, I use cotton swaps only
because my towels leave too much debris on the discs. Guess I need new
towels.. ha! Tony
