I never promoted my show much to the Bomp list,
but I too got the axe last spring. It's a tough
deal. But sometimes the stuff I played was so far
outside the college realm of hip hop and dance
music that I was surprised they kept me on since
most of them couldn't get their head around my
show if they tried... and I had a terrible time
slot as well & was a former PD. but they cleaned
house and got rid of most of the really out-there
shows.
I don't need to tell most of you that the FCC is
relaxing it's low-power broadcast rules and that
for around $40k you could probably get a decent
100 watt station.
