Re: Coffee 'n' Smokes playlist, 1/30/99 + Satisfaction

Street" <

"Satisfaction" is often a "first riff learned" for budding guitarists (or
try "Smoke o the Water"). It also may be the most ripped off riff ever,
but then it's so basic it's hard to say when someone is really ripping it
off or just playing a 1-b3-4 vamp.
Keith Richards says he "wrote" this song while passing out drunk with the
tape recorder on, waking up the next day to find a very bluesey early
version of this song on tape. This was the song that struck a huge chord
of mid-60s restlessness, although usually when I hear it now I think of
that waterskiing scene from "Apocalypse Now".
Anyway, an interesting choice of lyrics for Mick to sing in front of
thousands of screaming teenage girls.
