[Fwd: [Fwd: Cicadelic vinyl]]

I found this in my mailbox today. Thought some of you would be
interested...

Hello there!

My name is Claus Rosenblad Olsen and I've started a petition to convince
Cicadelic Records to produce vinyl.

In the 80's Cicadelic released some of THE coolest vinyl albums with
forgotten 60's garage punk bands as Basement Walls, Lemon Drops, Jades,
the Texas Punk Series, Cicadelic Sixties etc. - these items have now
become collectors items because the company really understood to "Forge
ahead into the past".

The company is still #1 when it comes to digging into the past, tracing
and releasing great material with those small 60's-garage bands that
fascinate so many people worldwide.

THE problem is that Cicadelic Records hasn't produced any vinyl during
the 90's - yes, they have stopped their vinyl production 100%. Now the
new releases such as compilations with the Livin' End, Human Expression,
the Kreeg, Moving Morfomen, Thingies, Unreglated Segments, Penthouse 5,
Zakary Thaks (indeed some of THE coolest bands ever exited on this
planet!) ONLY come out on CD!

This is a pity because I don't feel that this sort of music was ever
meant to be released on this digitalized medium and I don't think that
the CD's will ever replace the LP as a unique collectors item. There's a
totally different and much more intense feeling to it when this
old'n'dirty garage rock is pressed into the grooves of a vinyl record!

So my point is that I'm very disapointed that the company ONLY releases
CD's and not LP's aswell. I really think they let down a lot of vinyl
collectors this way!

If and ONLY if you have the same point of view on this matter, please do
me and yourself the favour to drop me a line or two and tell me how you
feel - would you consider buying their great stuff if it was to be
released on vinyl?

A week from now I'll send all you guys' answers to Cicadelic to let them
know that a lot of people still care for vinyl!

Thanks a lot
