References for the nosy (like me!)(Revised repost)

I, as many other list members, have questions about this artist or that artist
and there are places to go on the Web that are good resources of information,
such as:

The Delerium Archive
http://www.delerium.co.uk/archive/psychtop.html

In Ivor's words, this site is "...based on Vernon Joynson's excellent music
guides: Fuzz, Acid Flowers (USA bands '63 - '72) and The Tapestry Of Delights
(UK bands '63 - '76)".
Not always accurate (Ivor does accepte correction) but a great place to start,
because of it's scope and cross references. The first place to go when you
have a question about a 1960's band. This also links to "The Freak Emporium"
which has some of the things listed in Delerium (including the book upon which
the site is based!). http://www.delerium.co.uk/freakemp/frkmptop.html

The All Music Guide:
http://www.allmusic.com/

They aren't kidding! They will at least list people and albums and with
better
known artists, track listings and featured musicians. Once again, you can
submit corrections if you spot inaccuracies.

The CD Database
http://www.cddb.com/

You want track listings? They've got them. You can also submit them if you
notice one missing (and there are holes). Much to my surprise, they listed
the
first West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band album.

GEMM
http://www.gemm.com

A fellow on another list informed me about this site. If you want to buy
music
online, this is a great place to go. They list several vendors and will tell
you which format the titles are available. I always go there first to find
out
if something is available, unless it is one of the many fine products of Bomp!
, then I go to the Bomp! page, hello Greg Shaw! :^)

BMI
http://www.bmi.com/repertoire/database.html

Who wrote what? Did they write anything else? This is a fantastic place to
start. No years of composition listed, sad to say, and not always entirely
accurate, but, may I say, DANG!

The Internet Movie Database
http://www.imdb.com/search

This is great to find out who was involved in what as well as who is GOING to
be in what, as if there is a project in production they list it. Maybe not
100% accurate, but they do accept corrections.
