Yeah I remember meeting Matsch (founder of zee No-Counts) during my stint in
Berlin a few years ago. He told me about his strong desire to do BFTG kinda
stuff. At that point they had not recorded anything. I'd always see him at
various shows, like the Jaybirds, the Prisoners.
When I was back there this year I didn't get a chance to see him, but I did
go to the best bar in the world, the Screwy Club. L looney Tunes/Tex Avery
theme and decor (the barstools are GIANT carrots), wacky mixed drinks and
non-stop garage punk. I repeat, nothing but garage punk on the sound system.
It's on a little street in a hip district of West Berlin. Any of you
Euro-Bompers been there? It's worth a trip!
