Don't know if I really want to admit to knowing this, but the use of the
word 'garage' to describe this electronic techno so-called dance music
originated in a club called The Garage in Chicago... Let's just say that I
don't discriminate when it comes to friends that have bad taste (or is that
no taste?) in music, I just don't go out clubbing with them...

And as for techno being 'crap', Brian, do you think anyone here would
disagree with your assessment? Doubt it very much! Not seriously, anyhow...



Sylvain, isn't there a group from Switzerland who call themselves Tab
Hunter? They played the Dirty Water club last year sometime playing some
really trashy - but great fun - garage punk (if I can call it that?). They
wore hats made from newspapers, big fluffy carpet slippers, and, erm, the
rest of their clothing was eccentric to say the least... They instructed
the audience to boo after each song - which confused the hell out of
latecomers who didn't realise what was going on!!



Had a quick listen to the Teenage Shutdown LPs and it has to be said that
the sound quality really is all that it's been claimed, the hype is for
real, can't be faulted, cool packaging, good choice of tunes, go for it
kids...
