The Sadie Hawkins Day Dance was a fixture of the old LI'L ABNER comic strip. It was a chance in a leap year for all the single women of Dogpatch, U.S.A. to catch a bachelor in a foot race!
This is the real world. We'll have a dance instead. Gals do the askin' and get to keep whatever they can catch. I believe my bud Deke Dickerson got hitched this way...
