Poor Patty Duke has more to complain about Vig's
review than Brett. My criticism of my friend Joe is
that he needs some new words - travesty keeps showing
up!

Review by Joe Viglione
Patty Duke got a pass on her "teen" oriented albums,
but by the time her role in the film The Valley Of The
Dolls came around there was no excuse for the complete
lack of finesse, misunderstanding of great lyrics, and
general off-key performance which is totally
disrespectful to the listener, the excellent backing
musicians, and the songwriters. Just when you think
Patty has hit the depths and can't go any lower, "I'll
Plant My Own Tree" kicks in and must stand as the all
time worst rendition of a song by Andre Previn & Dory
Previn in all of music history. At least Duke's hits
in 1965, "Don't Just Stand There" and "Say Something
Funny," had enough reverb on her voice and production
to make them entertaining and workable on a Shelly
Fabares/Gary Lewis level, but this album is a
travesty.
indeed, Patty Duke had visited "The valley of the
dolls". Sounds like she was trapped there.
Back to Brett Milano:
Point 1: Joe & Nancy go back 30 years, Sknoof. It
takes two to make up just like it takes two to tango.
Point 2: Insiders have been e mailing each other back
and forth and Brett's getting a lot of heat,
not just from Vig - he's just the vocal one who puts
it in this group.
Point 3: Interesting that other groups have criticized
Milano's book:
This is from M.C. in the Charlie Farren Group:

I could not agree more! I'm sure many of you have had
more exposure to the scene than I, but I'm class of
'81 and spent 3-4 nights a week in the clubs (mostly
the channel, bunrattys and the paradise). I'm
comfortable in saying that jon and charlie are 2 of
the greatest talents to come out of ANY town and that
all of us are not just proud to be of that same town
and scene but downright appalled to see their
relevance slighted. I spent about a year at'BCN and as
much as I still love the station; the behavior,
attitude and self-"importance" I found there at that
young age turned me
