1) I dunno; everything about HP just screams "PROG" and Yes cover art.  At best I'd say Harry is math rock and The Other Guy is (pre-MTV) emo.  Actually The Girl could probably be the local punk.
2) The Alan Rickman (sp?) character?  I think he's "good-guy-who-just-seems-like-he's-never-had-his-coffee-yet".
