Here's a dumb question - do PCs not have a mini mic input like Macs do?  I'm
on a Mac -- usually just run my turntable through my preamp (or you can use
your receiver) into a rca-to-mini adapter and plug that straight into my
laptop.  The software I use is something I bought ages ago called CD Spin
Doctor - it came with the Toast software I bought to burn cds before itunes
was around, but I've heard there's all kinds of other audio import software
you can nab for nothin'.  The point to all of this I guess is that all I had
to really buy hardware-wise was an RCA/mini adapter.  If you need USB there
are also RCA/USB adapters that you can buy probably cheaper than the cost of
a USB turntable.
