I think it depends on you and on your stereo.
   
  This is fairly subjective, but if you're happy with the way mp3's sound on your stereo then it seems like a reasonable choice.  Especially if you're in the market for a new turntable either way.
   
  On some systems I can hear a difference between mp3's and analog, and also the difference between various sample/bit rates.  This is most evident if you listen to them side by side, and once again, individual taste dictates how much this does/doesn't bother you.
   
  Now that I've noticed the difference, I prefer to capture at 24bits/96kHz and then cook the digital capture down to CD format (16 bit/44.1kHz).  A lot more work, I know.  As you can guess, most of my vinyl is not digitized.
