"Man, indie rock is sooooooo dead," a proper little
outfit like Silver Lake, Calif.'s, Molecules sneaks up
with something unexpected. With slow-burning tracks of
cycling melodies, barely wavering beats and acid-psych
wanderings, they channel their No. 1 influence, Neu!,
without aping it. Think of classic Neu! throwback crew
Electrelane, but with heavier reliance on straight
indie-rock structures, gorgeous soaring or searing
guy-girl harmonies and some Pretty Girls Make
