Re: [bomp] Christmas list?

Nice surprise to read that the Hoodoo Gurus will be
touring some of the U.S. Thought I would never have
the opportunity to see them on these shores in this
century.

Writing of shores, I previewed this lavish '60s surf
photography book (Chronicle Books) the other night:

Photo/Stoner: The Rise, Fall, and Mysterious
Disappearance of Surfing's Greatest Photographer

By Matt Warshaw
Foreword by Jeff Divine

I was also surprised to stumble upon this book
(between the Borders):

New York Rocker: My Life in the Blank Generation with
Blondie, Iggy Pop and Others, 1974--1981: Gary
Valentine (ex-Blondie, ex-the Know)

and then two shelves over find out about a book I
didn't know was in existence:

All Yesterdays' Parties: The Velvet Underground in
Print: 1966-1971 (Paperback)
by Clinton Heylin (Editor)

Parched by Heather King (sister of Joe King) was the
best memoir I read this year.

Music:
I have been curious about the Griefs'long-playing
debut on Spoonful. Tralala has a second record out.
Denise James' Promises was a highlight of 2006. I
noticed in the Amoeba ads that the Jesus & Mary
Chain's first two records have been remastered (for
better or worse?) You can't go wrong with another
Outrageous Cherry record in your collection &
stereo--Stay Happy.
