[bomp] Tape Recorder Question

I have an old open-reel tape recorder. It's a 3M Wollensak, capable of mono,
two & four track stereo. I love the imprint on the plate on the back. It has
the 3M logo, "Wollensak Stereo Magnetic Tape Recorder"  Revere Camera Co.,
Chicago 16, Ill, U.S.A. A Subsidiary of the Minnesota Mining and
Manufacturing Company.

It's square shaped, around 12" each side, white molded plastic top and
brushed stainless everywhere else. It weighs about a million pounds. The
model number is T-1515-4, serial number 132192. It has a rectangular hand
mic inside the cover, but I also have a case with extra mics and accessories
by AKAI.

Does anyone know what year this machine is from and what its quality is? I
have some old reels and I'm wondering if I should fool around making live
recordings with it.
