Re: [bomp] Radio Birdman
The Radio Birdman show at Irving Plaza was easily one of the top ten shows
of all time for me. I didn't know what to expect, but they really, really
delivered the goods. Lil' Steven should put them on one of the Underground
Garage tours.
And the Avengers at Maxwell's AND Trash Bar on Saturday wasn't too damned
shabby either. Penelope could pass for ten or twelve years younger than she
actually is and is def one of the best girl punk singers around. The orig.
guitarist is amazin' and we talked to him for quite a while after the Trash
Bar show. Joel of the Plus Ones was also truly competent and super energetic
on bass/backing vox for the Avengers, as was the drummer.
I may be posting some pics soon in my Photobucket album. I didn't take too
many pics at Birdman because I wasn't sure of Irving Plaza's camera policy,
but I have dozens and dozens of the Avengers and Plus Ones from the other
joints.
Good to see everyone... thanks for makin' us feel at home away from home!
