[bomp] Knights of Fuzz DVD release

After years of hard work, "The Knights of Fuzz: the garage & psychedelic
music explosion 1980 to now" DVD is ready for release!

 

The video portion of the feature-length DVD features a new scene documentary
with rare footage, 20 newly restored music videos, bonus footage, and
interviews. This first volume includes the scenes in the U.S. & Canada. The
bonus DVD-ROM content (viewed through your computer Web browser) includes
the entire contents of the now out-of-print 300-page KNIGHTS OF FUZZ book,
plus a 26-song audio compilation, hundreds of new feature articles and
reviews, a new photo section, fanzine reproductions, and historical updates.


 

The underground garage and psych music story can finally be told: THE
KNIGHTS OF FUZZ is here!

 

The in-store release date is September 12, but I will have copies available
directly from me starting @July 15. I'll have a special deal that includes
an exclusive "Knights of Fuzz" poster and bonus disc available only through
my site.

 

Special thanks to those on the Bomp list (like Blair Buscareno, yeah!) who
helped me locate bands and materials over these past years. It was through
lists such as Bomp that I had an open call to bands to submit video for
possible inclusion, and it was of great help! Longtime garage mavens Freddy
Fortune and Dino Sorbello served as Associate Producers on the project, and
I tip my hat to them in gratitude as well.

 

There's been talk of the great 1980s NYC garage scene at the Dive here
recently - and a "live" video clip of The Cheepskates at The Dive, Halloween
1983, is included on the DVD. Other videos include The Chesterfield Kings,
Fuzztones, Cynics, Miracle Workers, Untamed Youth, Girl Trouble, Woggles,
Les Breastfeeders, and many more.
