The Cathay closed down in about '86 or so, but Raji's quickly took its place. 
Dobbs had worked at the Cathay before starting up Raji's.

Good to know.  I totally missed the first half of the '80s; went out so many 
times between 1976-1979 that everybody I knew was telling me "YOU GO TO TOO 
MANY CONCERTS" so I buckled to that and tried to see if I could live some other 
kind of existence... that didn't last!  But, it lasted from 1980-1985... until 
Greg Shaw opened the Cavern and I could no longer resist.  Thank you, Bomp, 
BTW...

I kinda also thought that from '76-'79 I'd seen the rise and fall of the best 
Punk stuff and what was new wasn't flippin' my lid.  I especially hated Black 
Flag, but they became the big thing locally... I wanted no part of that.  One 
of the last shows I went to was Madness with the Go Go's opening for them in 
1979... Whisky a Go Go... final time until seeing X there out of the blue in 
1982 for some reason.  August, 1979, I "dropped out" by moving to Hawaii (which 
also didn't last)
