[bomp] Re: night music

<<The first season was on NBC (with Jools Holland and Hal Wilner involved) and
came on after SNL, the second syndicated (minus Holland).>>

it's the second season i remember...cuz in indiananapolis, the show was
definitely on a CBS affiliate. this must have been the syndicated season.

from the wikipedia article on sanborn:

<<From 1988-89, he co-hosted a late-night TV music show on NBC with Jools
Holland. The show, "Night Music", following producer Hal Willner's eclectic
approach, drew Sanborn together with many famed musicians, such as Miles Davis,
Lou Reed, Santana, Curtis Mayfield, and many others.>>

i definitely remember this from 1990, so 1989-1990 must have been the
syndicated year...weird, i wasn't able to find anything about this show on
imdb. i have lots of good hazy half-memories of this show...seen (more or less)
through a late-night fog of jim beam and edinburgh ditch-weed. did lou reed do
something from the "new york" album on this show...i seem to recall an
in-studio set of stuff like "dirty boulevard," stuff from that vintage, but i
may be thinking of something from MTV around the same time.
