Great song, a favorite of mine--I have it on the LP The Cicadelic 60s Vol 5: 
1966 Revisited.  Kind of slow, moody, jangly, not terribly psychedelic. 
They were a garage band from the Los Angeles area, and apparently they 
actually spelled their name "Maltees."  That's the only song by them I've 
heard.
