[bomp] Highs in the (Mostly) Mid-80s podcast series
About 10-12 years ago, I told some friends I'd love to see a Highs in
the Mid-80s comp series (patterned after the old AIP Highs in the
Mid-60s comps.) I even mentioned it on Bomp list a few times over the
years. At one point, it looked like it might happen.
It didn't.
Well, between Kopper trying to get people to do podcasts, him talking up
the idea of other regional podcasts (like the Florida Rocks series), and
me doing a couple of different podcasts myself - and having this week
off - I decided to go ahead and do a Highs In The (Mostly) Mid-80s
podcast. The first edition is NYC, Volume 1. (There *may* be a second
NYC volume, as well.) I'm also planning one on Long Island, New Jersey,
Rochester, NY, and probably Pennsylvania. I could probably pull a Boston
volume or two together, as well, although perhaps some of our Boston
compatriots would prefer to take that on.
Oh... That brings me to my next point: I'd like to open this up to
everyone. There are - rather obviously - people out there who are better
qualified to cover certain geographical areas than yours truly.
For those of you who want it spelled out: I'm looking for podcasts that
will have songs that are: (a) garage; (b) from the (mostly) mid-80s,
although one can stretch that a *wee* bit; (c) geographically similar.
Here's the track list from Volume 1. (Not sure when Kopper will post
it...Hopefully, within the next week or so.)
