I understand that liberties are taken in biopics- that's not my beef with
this movie. I hated it because none of the presence of these people came
across. I grew up around these people (I was in a band with John Carter) and
nothing about their real personalities came through. And I thought the music
STUNK. I've seen run-of-the-mill bar bands that captured the feel of that
music better than anyone in the movie did. It was dull and sterile. I
thought Reese Witherspoon was cringe-inducingly bad. Just because the
Academy liked it, doesn't mean it's good.
