[bomp] RE: The Decline Of The Bomp List

Howdy!

I think that Garage 66 still officially exist, but I am not 100% sure. The
list just might be dead in the sense that no one posts to it  anymore;
however, the list moderator (Sean Bronniwell) suggested ending it a few months ago.
Since 1999, I've been on this list. It actually showed or proved to be an
overall positive forum. I learned a lot from it. The only negative aspect of
this list was some of the flame wars. Guilty as charge several years from
*some* flammatory emails myself. This was mostly in 2002, but we are all
beyond that now I hope. Don Williams is something of the past.

It is after all a listserve. Most listserves go through "flame wars" no
matter what forum is the focus. Personally, I hope this list remains active.
I've talked to a few veterans of this list when I got on MySpace when I found
their profile (Mod Top Mike who was before my time, Fuzzco, Andrea, and some
others whose names escape me at the moment). All of them had "their
reasons." I wouldn't exactly call it the death nail for this list. It shouldn't be.
Let's give it time, and cheer up folks.

Here's a slight change of subject. To Rat Phink (sp?), you asked about the
progress of my documentary. That's a good question. The person that was
supposed to edit it lives in Los Angles as is sick. That's the dilemma at this
point. There will be a documentary. It is just taking a bit longer than it
should.

Alright. Here's one more thing to discuss. I am seeing Stereolab on March
22, 2006 at the Cat's Cradle in Carrboro, North Carolina. Do any of you
think that they are as creative as they once were? I have my opinion on that
matter.
