[bomp] Le Beat Bespoke 2 festival line-up + press release
A European happening!
Le Beat Bespoke 2 - press release 2006
Brazenly flaunting the rule that sequels are never as good as the original,
the wildest weekender in the world returns to London this Easter Bank
Holiday.
Yes, coinciding with the release of his new mix album, 'Le Beat Bespoke 2'
(Circle Records), our host Rob Bailey and the NUTs team is throwing another
3-day global bash, tailor-made for all lovers of the'60s underground and
beyond.
It's a party planned by people who like good music for people who like good
music -
so you can expect to hear the very best in everything from Garage to
Rockabilly, Folk to Funk, Psych to Soul, Blues to Britpop and Freakbeat +
all points in between!
Compered by special guest Mark Lamarr of 'Never mind the Buzzcocks TV
fame', the amazing line-up of global live acts includes:
The Remains - the group handpicked by Paul McCartney to support the Beatles
on their last ever tour. These first-wave US garage legends played at Shea
Stadium - and survived!
Circulus - Fusing the music of 1669 with the music of 1969, 7-strong
psych-medieval-space-drone-folk mavericks Circulus have a built a
reputation of being one of the very strangest and very best live bands in
the world.
Lyres - Boston's '80s garage-punk heroes reformed last year for Euro dates
and went down a storm!
The Horrors - 'Get Cramped' with these black-clad teenage no-wave noise
fiends. Only together sixth months, they still make a fearsome racket.
Plus! 10 more live acts - as well as the most beautiful go-go girls, the
trippiest eye-candy visuals, the freakiest cult cinema & the worlds' best
DJs spinning records from dusk until daybreak in 3 rooms with an all
night-bar!.
There's also a huge retro market selling choice vintage furniture, clothes,
vinyl and pop artefacts. A cross-town vintage scooter/car/bike
run on Saturday afternoon. Art exhibitions. And much more.
