Thanks for your replies so far. Keep the suggestions coming. Even 
reminding me obvious stuff that I should play (like some of your garage, 
beat, pop and psych favorites that feature prominent fuzz guitar) would 
help.

PS. Where could I find the Marty Robbins and George Jones tracks 
mentioned? Are they on LPs or 45s? And what about the Simon & Garfunkel 
song that Simon pointed out?
