RE: [bomp] Revere and Raiders comin' to town?
I used to live in Portland and saw both ML and PRR quite a bit. Mark Lindsay
wins by a landslide. The current Paul Revere and the Raiders reminds me of
a band you would see at Disney World, led by and aged combination of Captain
Crunch and Captain Kangaroo (that would be Paul). His band has gone to more
of a 80s pirate look, with styled mullets, goatees, and black spandex tights
tucked into their black boots. The music is extremely sterile versions of
all the old favorites and takes a back seat to Paul Revere's "comedy" which
reminds me of a bad Rip Taylor rip-off.
Mark Lindsay can be just a tiny bit cheesy sometimes, but as far as "oldies
acts" go, he still delivers the goods vocally and seems to get backing bands
that sort of "get it".
