Howdy, y'all --
Bomp list turns up pretty often when I'm searching out
record info on the net; right now I'm really really
stumped on a record, and y'all seemed like the logical
people to ask, so I've gone and signed up. Welcome
aboard/thank you, lovely to be here.
Okay, I've got this record here, test-pressing of some
kind, and I have not a clue who it might be. The guy I
got it from said it was by The Harbingers, but that
doesn't seem right.
It's a letter-perfect Byrds imitation, perfect,
jangling folk-rock, has the Columbia label house
sound, could easily be a Terry Melcher production, or
one of his buddies. B-side is heavily easterned-up,
drone-y folk-rock/raga sound. Matrix numbers are
DD-HA-1/DD-TB-1.
Here are the lyrics, first verse of each side:
"All you pacifistic, anarchistic harbingers of fear
Please tell me just what kind of world you save.
I hate war the same as you, but we differ, then, we
two;
I can't sit and preach and watch the world enslaved."
b/w
"Don't give your heart to Susan,
Don't let her know you care.
Cuz if you give your heart to her,
Susan's heart won't be there."
Does anybody recognize this? Oh please, oh please oh
please, oh please...
Cheers --
Hugo M.
