[bomp] Re: Cale/Warnes
John Cale produced Jennifer Warnes first LP. It's supposed to be pretty
good but I've never heard it. Anybody got one to spare?
Brett, I liked your Bubble Puppy story in the Oxford American.
Thanx much Kip, and I'm impressed that you already have a copy...the sucker's been out less than a week. I had a great time comfirming with the fact checkers that Nick St Nicholas had worn the rabbit ears onstage. Todd Phillips didn't know about it, but said he "wouldn't have been surprised."
That Cale-produced Jennifer Warnes LP is actually her third. She'd done two previous ones for Parrot (US)/ Deram(UK). At the time she was of course just "Jennifer," the girl with the glasses and peasant dresses from the Smothers Bros show, on whom I was madly crushed.
All three are a cross between Nico and DOnovan, and are pretty wonderful. The two Deram albums are on one import CD, but the Warners is pretty elusive.
