If Revere wasn't on the sessions, then why couldn't Cale have been one of the bassists/organists used to double the bassline?

Was that still true after Freddy Weller and Keith Allison joined? I assumed they were behind the swamp-Southern rock sound of the last coupla albums before they became "the Raiders".
BTW, Cale did a fair amount of actual production for Warners, though seldom on well-known albums (Chunky, Novi & Ernie?) I also have a nifty bootleg CD called "Warner Soul Masters"-- obscure one-shot soul singles that WB released, a couple of which Cale mixed.
