The book "Children of Nuggets" is by David Walters and is not about the 80s
garage scene- it's "The Definitive Guide to 'Psychedelic Sixties' Punk Rock
On Compilation Albums". It was published by Popular Culture, Ink of Ann
Arbor and was part of their "Rock N Roll Reference Series" of which we have
about 25 or so. It's WAYYY out of print and pricey when you find it.
Tim Gassen's book that details the 80s scene is called "Knights of Fuzz" (at
least the 2nd edition [from '95 with The Gruesomes on the cover]- the first
edition from '91 was called "Echoes In Time: The Garage and Psychedelic
Music Explosion 1980 - 1990"). I don't remember what the differences are
between the two- I'd have to pull them out. It was updated on CD-Rom but it
was the same title.
My rep at Rhino told me about 6 months ago that it was indefinitely delayed
and may be headed for the scrap heap. That was the last I heard.
