[bomp] Shout-out to Allen 'Gut' Turk
a buddy of mine asked me to post this:
---
This is a special message to "Gut".
Mr. Turk, I'm hoping this message somehow through the miracles of the
information age finds its way to you, and finds you in good health and spirit.
We have never met. I am the webmaster of www.leighstephens.com, a site I do for
a man who influenced my playing & music immensely. I just feel having a page
about Leigh and Blue Cheer without a few words from you leaves something
missing.
I know times were strange and I know they got stranger. And I've heard you're
living a different life now, and can only respect that.
But if for any reason you ever feel like sharing a paragraph or two about the
music scene, know I would consider it a great honor to speak with you. I'm just
hoping for a few recollections and impressions of the good times and this great
music. Nothing else.
Your words would mean a lot to me and I would be grateful for whatever you
wished to share.
Everyone speaks so highly of you, man. Thank you for what you did, hooking up
the guys and getting them on their feet. Water under the bridge is water under
the bridge; the music is what matters and it still matters... and you helped it
happen.
So please - if you'd ever consider a chat, even off the record, contact me.
Until then, Godspeed and THANK YOU.
