THE DIRTY WATER CLUB
in The Boston Music Room
178 Junction Road, Tufnell Park N19
FRIDAY 13th MAY
THE PARKINSONS - - - - - - > FOR THE LAST TIME EVER!
Sleazenation said, They rock like The Stooges, they
dance like Tony Manero and they party harder than
Keith Moon. Before moving to London more than five
years ago and signing to Fierce Panda, Victor and
friends were well known in Portugal as the nations
"kings of chaos" and were invited by Joey Ramone to
play at his birthday party in New York in 1997. Having
worked hard to spread their brand of ferocious punk
rock across the world and, in the process, setting a
world record for the number of Japanese gigs during
one tour of any Western band, they have now decided
to call it a day. Yes, this is the last ever gig by
The Parkinsons and Im sure their last show will be
one to remember!
THE AMPHATAMEANIES
These Glasgwegians have been around for ages and put
out a number of releases, but have recently become a
bit more well known generally due to a former member
being in a certain other Glasgow group. However,
dont let that put you off! With the Amphetameanies
every gig is an event, with more than its fair share
of skanking, drunkenness and frivolity. Yes, I said
"skanking". Sure, these guys and girls are a ska band.
But theyre not your average ska band - singing songs
about things that matter, well, okay, about whisky and
car crashes and what a great time they did or didnt
have last night they have what it takes to entertain.
THE SPEEDSTARS
These Japanese punk rocknrollers emailed me the
following: We are: U.T. with vocal & bass guitar;
Goro has guitar & scream; Nao on drums. I made the
band when I finished ex-band whose sound was mix of
funk, punk, rock. I thought about back to school that
is my teenagers favorite music. That is Japanese punk
rock, rockabilly, Moterhead. I grew up with punkrock.
I love first wave Japanese punk rock. After that many
punkrock came out. Garage rock'n'roll as well. I
listened UK punk rock, was real time music. Later I
listened many kind of punk, rockabilly, rock'n'roll.
Recentry's band I loved is Guitarwolf, Sick on the
Bus, still Moterhead. I sang Japanese, because it's my
roots and I honor my country and Japanese punkrock is
same label as UK or any other country. So we are
rocking in UK with genius guitar player, and drums. I
love London.
