I'd consider "The Man With The Golden Arm" to be
borderline noir,
especially considering that Preminger did direct quite
a few noir
films. I've never seen "Hatful of Rain" - I'd heard
that was Tony Francisiosa (spelling?))'s fave of all
the roles he ever did. Funny, considering all the dope
films I've seen (including some REALLY obscure ones,
like a Mexican silent drug exploitation film from 1926
called "The Iron Fist"), I've somehow missed that one.


I've never seen "Quicksand" - I do have a story though
about Mickey Rooney (who starred in it). His stepson
was in the Angry Samoans for a short time and a couple
guys in the Samoans once
hung out with him. He suggested a song title for a
punk rock song - 
"Casting Couch, Ouch Ouch".

Never seen "The Devil Thumbs A Ride" nor "Kansas City
Confidential" either.
