Actually a 15" cab is the standard setup for those amps.  Fender Showman
goes w/ a 1x15" JBL D130F cab.  Fender Dual Showman goes w/ a 2x15" JBL
D130F cab.  I don't advise trying to put the 2x15" cab into a car by
yourself.

In case anyone cares, the Showman cabs originally came with a standard JBL
15" speaker (D130).  D.Dale kept blowing them, so they developed a
reinforced speaker specifically to use in those amps and called it the D130F
(F for Fender).  JBL 12" speakers are D120 -- I don't know why they didn't
call the 15" speakers the D150 but they didn't (if you really wanna get
confused, there is also a 15" JBL speaker called the JBLD140F -- not sure
what the difference is between a D130F and a D140F).  Even more detail that
I recently learned is that the earlier white tolex/brownface Showmans are
totally different circuit (and thus a totally different animal) than the
black tolex/blackface Showmans.  I think I have all this right.  If anyone
knows more feel free to chime in.

Dick D uses the white ones.  As loud as those things are I don't really know
why he uses two Dual Showmans -- I don't know of any other guitar player
that goes that far.  I will say that as bad as he is live these days (and he
is really, really bad), he still has the mother of all guitar sounds and
it's loud enough to fill a stadium.

But again, if you're trying to get a surf sound (or just wanna piss off the
neighbors), a Showman thru a JBL cab w/ a Fender reverb tank makes all the
difference in the world.  Great big, clean sounding amps.  Even if you don't
play surf music it's a really fun setup to play through.
